"Waiting too long for a blood test"

About: King George Hospital

I was required to attend the hospital for a blood test.

Waited two and a half hours for this - and the waiting area was swamped, as usual.

Why couldn't an appointment be booked for this?

Better still, instead of wasting all that time going to the hospital and back, why couldn't the hospital signpost me back to my local GP practice to take my blood test instead (as is normally the case)?
