I have just attended Essex County retina Suite as a patient.

I found the service to be exemplary.

I had an extremely thorough examination and assessment by The Consultant who explained everything in great detail and had an extremely pleasant manner.

I was very impressed that the staff nurse who called me through at the beginning then took my history and started off the examination of my eyes. This I thought was brilliant as it meant that this information was recorded for the doctor before I saw them. The nurse was professional and amiable.

I thought the clinic ran extremely well and efficiently. Granted there was a bit of a wait, but while waiting you were aware that patients were called in and out, which must have meant that like myself they were seeing a number of healthcare professionals.

Overall, I had a very positive experience.

My only comment would be that the staff could have explained more as they went along, particularly as I had not been before. When I asked for information they were very thorough and answered my questions.

The team should be very proud of their service.
