"no fruit or vegetables on the entire ward?"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary

I do not eat meat or any animal products as they cause cancer and heart disease. I also consider the rights of animals tremendously.

I was told I had to eat and drink after awakening from an anaesthetic. I was given a cheese sandwhich & an icecream without being asked a choice and kindly asked if I could have a banana and a slice of bread instead. The nurse said they don't have bananas so I said I will eat any fruits at all as a meal? The nurse said there is no fruit on the whole ward? Natures most healing food? I asked them for a salad and a slice of bread? No salad as it's covered in cheese and egg? So I asked for a simple bowl of vegetables? No vegetables!

This is a hospital. What about health?

What is going on?

I ended up with two slices of dry white bread and a glass of water.

The nurse was annoyed and I felt awful.

The bed that I was carried on after my hip injections was also empty of air so I was lying on the hard wood.

The actual medical staff off the ward itself were incredible and very kind and professional.
