Was admitted on Wed afternoon and by that evening had had numerous tests and procedures to identify what was causing my illness and then to place a stent that effectively brought me back to good health over the next few hours.
Thurs I faced a barrage of further testing and imaging and was at all times kept up to date on what the different people were interested in. I felt very well at this stage just concerned about what had caused the blockage of the common bile duct.
Fri more tests and more results and then informed that I was going to be discharged and my case would be picked up by a specialist unit at Guildford's Royal Surrey County Hospital.
Frimley Park Hospital is outstanding, in 3 days they had diagnosed and stabilised my condition, a team of NHS people from Guildford spoke to my wife and I about FPH's discovery of a mass on the head of my pancreas which they thought was a pancreatic cancer primary tumour and gave us insight into what basically lay ahead.
In 2013 my brother died of pancreatic cancer, when his symptoms started he was misdiagnosed with IBS and for 2 years he got worse and when finally operated on was found to be inoperable and closed dying eight months later. He was in Africa.
"Superb treatment and stay."
