"No support!"

About: Hull Royal Infirmary

My labour was very straightforward and the 2 midwives who were with me during labour were amazing. As soon as I was admitted to the ward everything changed. The midwife in charge of the ward was not welcoming nor friendly. I was put into a shared room which was fine, as I understand everyone cannot access a private room. My issue was I wanted to breastfeed which is encourage by the DoH and the NHS, but no support was given to me. I was a first time mum and needed help and support with breastfeeding but it was not there. The NHS should not preach about breastfeeding is best for baby if they are not able to provide hospitals and staff with the support required.
