I started coming to the day centre quite recently. The staff are very nice, you can talk to them and they have time for you, they can’t do enough for you. It’s really good to talk to folk and meet people who are the same age and in the same boat. I have been diagnosed with dementia, I might forget things but I can still enjoy myself.
The centre gives your carer a bit of space and they need that, it’s important.
The location of the centre is good, it’s very central. There is a bus that picks us up and takes us to the centre, I also know the driver Charlie too.
There’s lots of activities, they do things that suit you. I like when we do things as a group, I think that’s nice for folk who are normally alone.
It’s great they are looking after the seniors. I feel lucky to have the centre, I know some people are on their own and don’t have anything. I think more people would come if they knew about the centre but I think there is a bit of a stigma.
