"Doctors were excellent, receptionists not so much."

After being told to go to A&E after going to the minor injuries unit in Woking, I arrived at 19:45. I told the receptionist what my situation was and asked how long the approximate waiting time would be to see a triage nurse to assess me, they said 30-45 minutes.

I was seen for a review at 21:30. The person reviewing me was kind and non-judgemental but I asked if I'd be seen by a doctor for treatment before 22:30 because of parking, they said "yes, definitely", unfortunately that was not the case and I was eventually seen at 00:50.

Another thing to note is that there were flies around the area and someone had split their coffee before I had arrived and was still there when I had left.

When I was being treated, the doctor was fantastic. Very optimistic and I commend them for their work. They knew what they were doing and was confident which was comforting. They treated me as an equal which is lovely as I've often found doctors in the past to be dismissive and supercilious.

I was finally discharged at 01:40. To conclude, I felt that the waiting times were far too long but it was almost worth it because of the respect and treatment I received from the doctor however I did not appreciate the receptionist's dismissive attitude.
