"Left alarmed and distressed"

About: Barnsley Hospital

Had blood test results taken on 21 July, two weeks after I asked for the results only to be told by secretaty that they were waiting for the consultant to look at them, I requested them again one week later.

I received the letter on Saturday 15 August and was extremely shocked and alarmed as well as blood test results was told that my head and neck MRI did not show trapped nerve (reason given in past for numb feet) but was “essentially normal” which I am informed is “medical code” for they have found something that they were not looking for; also said would review me in clinic but no appointments have been made as I checked with the booking clerks.

Spoke to Secretary Tuesday 18 who said they would get consultant to write to me again with the word essentially removed to reasure me that there is nothing wrong – have not received anything.

Anything like this should have been left until clinic especially as I only requested my blood test results.

Stress of this is making me more unwell, but then again wouldn’t expect any different from Sheffield Teaching Hospital staff; however would have expected more from Barnsley.
