"Made to feel humiliated over something I did 40..."

I am due to return to the Pain Clinic this coming week, but after discussing this with my husband we both feel the same; why bother?

Last time I was told there was nothing much they could really do ... I abused drugs when I was 16 - 19 (I'm now 54) so they are wary about what they are using to help my deal with my 24/7 pain because of what happened all those years ago.

Yes, seriously!

So, not only was I left feeling that my visiting was pointless and that I had spiked my pain by travelling, but I was completely humiliated to have something brought up that I did when I was young - I'm now 54.

The Pain Management person should take a course on how to deal with people and not leave them feeling desperately depressed because they obviously felt I was still 16.

I was disgusted.

I see no point in going to any more appointments in the worry that they will cause me mental harm.

Thankfully I have worked through this with my CBT counsellor and husband otherwise, I would be feeling useless, and suicidal.
