"Emergency C-Section"

About: Gloucestershire Royal Hospital

This is the second time I have given birth at Gloucester Royal hospital. First time around I received excellent care and this time around you didn't disappoint either!

I had an emergency C-Section at the end of March due to having an infection and my baby being in distress. I was made fully aware as to what was happening at every step of the way. Unfortunately during my section I had some serious complications due to tearing and a big bleed. Ended up spending time in The high decency unit and then spent almost a week on the maternity ward.

During my stay all the staff were extremely helpful, polite and kind. I can't thank them enough for the excellent care my daughter and I received.

I have recently been back for my follow up appointment with the doctor who helped during my c-section. It is due to this doctor and the other staff present on the day of my surgery that I didn't have a hysterectomy. They chose to save my uterus instead and I have gone on to heal remarkably well. I can even have another baby if we would like to try!

I not sure if we have another baby but if we do try then I know I will be in excellent hands at the Gloucester Royal.

Thank you to all the staff for what you did for my family and I :-)

Response from Gloucestershire Royal Hospital

Hi there,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share this feedback with us. It sounds like you had quite a stressful time during your labour and after birth, but it's good to hear that you and your daughter were both so well looked after. We will be happy to pass your comments on to the staff at the Women's Centre. Many thanks again and wishing you all the best with your recovery, The team at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
