"'Caring out, scaring in.'"

About: Homerton University Hospital

It appears the Homerton University Hospital has dropped caring for scaring.

I arrived at the hospital today for my scheduled 2.00pm appointment with my Orthopaedic Consulting Clinician/Team only to find I had been discharged. It appears the hospital had written to me cancelling aforementioned appointment for an earlier time in the day. Unfortunately, the letter was not received by me, hence my 2.00pm arrival.

This news angered and upset me, as problems from my recent hip operation were causing me great pain. Added to this news was the cold, matter-of fact-attitude of the immature receptionist as they conveyed the news to me.

Refusing to be fobbed off in such a dismissive manner, I visited P.A.L.S. where a friendly/supportive worker, had the decision overturned and arranged for another appointment. I find the hospitals ‘kangaroo court attitude’ disgusting and unacceptable, and will be contacting my MP over this matter, and seeking an apology for the arrogant behaviour of this this once respected hospital.
