my husband was seen in the spinal clinic referred for a spinal operation for spinal surgery and attended the pre op assessment clinic he then saw his heart specialist and was referred to the royal london for test obviously till these test were done the operation was put on hold.He was then diagnosed with amyloidosis which is a rare progressive heart disease i rang to explain this to the spinal team to find he had been taken off the clinic and also the operations list.I asked for an appointment and was asked to obtain a letter from Royal London which i did eventuall he ws referred to appointments who say there are no appointments for the next 2 months and we woild have to go on the waiting list.I cannot understand this as he is in a great deal of pain dealing with the news of amyloidosis is bad enough but to have to start the whole process of initial appointment surgeon appointment and pre op clinic seems such a waste of resources meanwhile we deal with a situation wher we dont even have an appointment and are on a waiting list with no solution in sight
