My 2 year old boy was on holiday in Skegness and suddenly developed breathing problems with a high temperature and became lethargic. We called 999 and the sent a paramedic out who gave him oxygen and suggested we took him to Skegness hospital to see if he had a chest infection. When we got there we was told there was no Drs in the building, when the nurse saw him they knew his breathing was bad and all of a sudden there was a Dr there! The Dr took one listen and said suspected pneumonia he needs to go to Boston hospital. Meanwhile my son is laying on a bed struggling to breathe and had to keep being given oxygen. We were waiting 4 hours for an ambulance and the only time nurses come to check on him was when we called them in! They were too busy dealing with people who had come in drunk after a night out! I would like to know how you can leave a child and family like that for 4 hours! When I finally said I would drive him to the hospital myself as I couldn't bare to sit there seeing him suffer any longer I was told if I took him they would call social services on me. This hospital if you can call it that! Absolutely useless!
