"Try to chase an appointment is virtually..."

About: Leicester General Hospital

I have been waiting for an appointment for a colonoscopy.

I was referred on the 8th June this year (2015) which was after a 12 week wait for the referral to a consultant from the GP. The consultant referred me for a colonoscopy on the 8th June. After 4 weeks I decided to chase and see where the appointment was. I was recommended to do this after 4 weeks as the General have had problems with booking appointments. After spending over an hour on the phone my call was answered only to be put on hold and asked to wait. I was not put on hold and could hear conversations of the admin staff about other people. After 20 minutes no one answered and I was forced to quit the call.

I did have an appointment eventually for a colonoscopy after waiting 7 weeks. This was then cancelled two days before and I was put back on the waiting list.

This has been 4 weeks now and still no appointment. I have again tried calling today and I have been on and off the phone in a queue, each time for half an hour per trime.

I've done this 4 times and as i'm supposed to be working it's very difficult. My symptoms are getting worse and I don't really know what to do next.

I have made an appointment with my GP but can't get in for another 5 days, which two days are the weekend, so to be expected.

Feeling rather upset, frustrated, in pain and have no idea how long I've got to wait to get sorted out.
