"Appalling."

I had an appointment booked for today which had been booked for about a week at 11.30am, I was called at about 9.00am to see if I was able to come in earlier which I was unable to do as due to my injury am unable to drive so my wife had arranged with her work to leave early to take me. The receptionist just said ok then not a problem and that was the end of that about 10 mins later I receive another call now saying that the doctor has cancelled my appointment when I asked why the receptionist told me that they had an 1 hr 1/2 gap between the patient before me and me and didn't want to wait around for an hour and a half.

I then was put through to complaints and was then told that maybe the doctor had been called back for an emergency which is fair enough if that was the case but then why wasn't that explained with the first phone call if it was such an emergency.

So because they couldn't be bothered to wait 1 hr 1/2 I now have to wait about 2 weeks before another appointment.

Thank you for that.

This is not my first disappointing experience with st marks.

Response from St Marks Hospital

Hello,

Thank you for your posting. I'm sorry to see that your appointment was cancelled, resulting in delays. Can you tell me which service you are referring to? I can then pursue this on your behalf. I would also be interested to hear of your other disappointing experiences.

Yours Sincerely,
