"Don't bother us, go back to your gp."

About: University Hospital Aintree

I spent five hours with my 88 year old mum, in A and E who presented with extreme abdominal pain. The staffing levels were very stretched, with hardly any doctors. The junior Doctor obviously had the brief of sending as many people back to their gp, rather than admit. This position was confirmed by their more

Senior colleague who simply spouted jargon as to why my mum couldn't be admitted as there's no one available to do any investigative

Work. The best I could get was a letter to give the gp, for them to arrange a urology outpatient appointment. This will take weeks with my mum in constant pain. A really disapointing service.
