"law unto themselves"

About: Highbury Hospital

highbury has no.idea about modern mental health practice. It is like stepping back in time ..no involvement with families; psychiatrists treated like god's, regardless of whether they know what they are talking about or not. Patients don't figure in their assessments & families are treated with defensiveness & disrespect unless the staff decide that they like you. Make a complaint and you will be treated even more poorly. Somebody needs to take a closer look at what is happening at this hospital. The problems seem impenetrable.

We work as a full multi-disciplinary team and aim listen to the views of all professionals with in The team.

Our aspiration is to ensure the patient’s best interests are at the centre of their recovery journey.

The support from family members is crucial in the patient’s recovery and the MDT aspire to seek the views from families and carers as much as possible.

"We are sorry you did not receive this experience and feel like changes have not been made for the better.

We are happy to discuss your concerns individually to try and understand further your experience and, hopefully, learn to improve our service for the future.

If you would like to do this please contact Jo Horsley, Operational Manager for Acute Services, at: jo.horsley@nottshc.nhs.uk or on 01159691300 x14105."

Adele Bryan, General Manager, Adult Mental Health Services
