My wife has been admitted to crosshouse on many occasions she has copd.
she needs oxygen 24 hours a day now but lots I times when I have visited her she is struggling to breathe because her oxygen is not on. I have told nursing staff about this lots of times but it still happens.
When she is admitted she is not allowed to take any of her normal medicines until prescribed by a hospital doctor this can sometimes mean she misses out on taking what she needs for nearly 48 hours in some cases.
Even getting a commode is a problem not a single admission has she not wet herself because she couldn't wait any longer after buzzing repeatedly she is in hospital at the moment and wet herself twice already.
I understand staff are busy but surely this makes more work for them let alone the embarasment my wife feels.
Trying to get information about what is happening with her treatment seems to be a major undertaking. The priority seems to be getting her discharged even when she shouldn't be. I have lost count of the amount of times she has been discharged only to be readmitted on the same day.
I am sorry if this looks like a bit of a rant but there are lots of other things happened during my wifes time in crosshouse I would be here for hours trying to list them
