After a long year of suffering & taking loads of different pain relief due to arm & neck pain through a trapped nerve in my neck and plodding on with work my everyday life and family my G. P decided it was time for more investigations.
Eventually seeing head Physio & told he'd get me to his colleagues, fix me in 3 months, & that they wouldn't need to see me back at hospital..not!
Sugeons wouldn't offer me an MRI ..but I was later given appointment to eventually see them.. given steroid injection & told it was coming from my shoulder..and sent me for numerous xrays. I waited for the results and was asked how I felt after injection..no change I said & finally told me they couldn't help as it was a matter for Neurology
I was given an MRI in December last year and not hearing about results until well into the start of this year. I didn't actually meet with surgeon but neck specialists who id previously met back in September, they showed me results and said id need to have surgery as I have degenerative disc disease trapping the nerve endings. Radiculopathy is the correct term.
long time passed and still no relief despite being on top painkillers & morphine, went on holiday in July, still waiting for surgery date, phoning constantly to speak to someone to ask when I was getting admitted? ? ..being told various things ..then eventually told they have problems with their Theaters! It may be October time or beyond now before I hear from them.
Give the staff and all concerned their dues, but this new super Southern general hospital should never had been opened until all teething problems are rectified completely! !
I feel very let down, frustrated and very upset by all that's happened to me..its affected my life, my family, my working life which has been now been terminated as my time off work has come to an end..and still I'm hanging on (JUST! ) for my surgery! ...a very frustrated patient!
"Frustrated patient"
