"Excellent care of patient with vascular dementia"

About: The Maidstone Hospital

My father who has vascular dementia, was admitted via A&E with a suspected TIA, just over a week ago. The staff in A & E responded promptly, and results were available within a couple of hours, which confirmed he had an infection and not a mini stroke and he was admitted to Mercer ward to recover. The staff on the ward treated him with kindness, care and respect, and upon his return home yesterday, he had nothing but praise for the ward, particularly the Dementia nurses that worked with the ward, who encouraged him all the way to recovery and also arranged a 'care package' for his return home.

Thank you all very much

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your father's experience when admitted to Maidstone Hospital and I hope that he is now recovering. We were pleased to learn that the staff, particularly the Dementia nurses acted with compassion and kindness and your positive comments regarding A & E and Mercer Ward will be passed to the staff concerned. With Kind Regards the PALS team
