About: Kettering General Hospital

I brought my Dad into A&E in the early hours of the morning. After a short wait and several diagnostic tests he was allowed home but I felt confident he was going home having been checked over thoroughly. The staff in A&E were all fantastic especially the doctor and the radiographer, both were very helpful and had a lovely way with my dad. Cannot thank you all enough for the hard work and commitment you show to your patients. The only negative was that in the early hours of the morning the air conditioning was full blast and a number of elderly patients were sat waiting feelling very cold.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to comment on the care your father received while in our department. I am pleased to hear you found the A&E staff to be fantastic.

Our air conditioning is unfortunately quite old. The whole department runs off one system which can only be controlled by our estates department and unfortunately they do not cover nights. We offer blankets to our patients if they are cold and I am sorry if your father was not offered one. I will remind all my staff to check their patients especially now the cooler nights are drawing in.

I will pass on your comments to the staff members concerned – thank you.

Sandra Iwanoff

A&E Senior Matron
