"Was left on my own waiting for hours"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I went to the A&E as I am pregnant and started bleeding. They took my bloods and blood pressure and kept leaving me waiting saying I need to see a gyno doc. They took me up to a ward and was left on my own waiting for hours. I had to keep asking how long will it be and when I said I want to go, then they rang to see were the doc was. Only 1 doctor that could see me and could be waiting hours because he/she was in labour ward I was very worried as might be losing baby. In the end I walked out as I think it’s disgraceful how long you have to wait. The nurse even said there a bit slow at hospital compared to city ones as I’m from Birmingham. Sorry, but no hospital should be slow. Should be dealt with asap.

Response from United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust

Dear sq,

I'm sorry to hear you were kept waiting for such a long time and I appreciate that this would have added to your worry.

Unfortunately the medical team were delayed and were not able to see you more promptly.

Please accept my apologies on behalf of myself and the team.
