Dislocated knee whilst hiking in Snowdonia 10 days ago. Still on holiday but now in Seahouses. I had some concerns about swelling on my knee and also wanted to know if and what exercise I should be doing. I was worried that hiking even when wearing a support might be aggravating my injury. We were so impressed with everything about the Minor Injuries unit - I don't think there is anything like this in the Home Counties. I spoke to 3 members of staff in total. The receptionist in the unit who was absolutely charming and made me feel as if
I was checking into a hotel. The receptionist at the main door who was equally charming and friendly. The nurse I had my consultation with - was kind , reassuring with a sense of humour. I did not feel rushed , awkward or an inconvenience to anyone. I only had to wait for 40 minutes ( I often wait longer than this to see my GP) I left feeling confident and reassured that I could carry on enjoying my holiday. I think it is also worth noting how clean and tidy all areas of the hospital were that I saw. If only all NH facilities were as exemplary.
Thank you so much to all who made this such a stress free experience ??
