"Stoma care"

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

The Stoma care nurse wrote incorrect details for ostomy products in letter to GP.

So the wrong products have been ordered by the surgery, this despite it being the same old product as previously used.

Perhaps if they had been less abrupt and know-it-all, they would have saved me hours wasted chasing the right products. Maybe Boots would like to bill them for the wrong products they listed, they might be more careful and make fewer mistakes.

I'm really sorry to hear about your experience at our hospitals. It's vitally important we get the correct products communicated to the GP. Please contact me through our PALS team on 01708 435 454, or by email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk who will investigate this further. Meanwhile your comments have been shared with the stoma nurses

Yours sincerely

Wendy Matthews Interim Chief Nurse
