"A General Practioner"

About: South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw

(as the patient),

I have been a patient at the Scott Practice in Doncaster for many years.

This year I had an appointment with a Dr Corlett. I knew he was good but didn't realise how good until I saw him. I had to wait 5 weeks to see him but it was well worth the wait.

I work in care and have counselling qualififications and because of this training I adopt a non-judgemental, accepting caring approach delivered in a humanistic way.

Here was a GP facing me with exactly the same qualities and more. It was very refreshing and he kept the consultion completely 'patient-person centred'.

After my appointment with this very unique man I manged to change my life around. I don't think many gp's know how to be with their patients too concerned with not blurring the boundaries to realise that being humanistic is the key to success.

I could go on but I think you've got the gist. Family GP's need to take a leaf out of this man's book what he delivers is from the heart not a text book and I thank him and the Scott Practice for their excellence in high standards of patient care.
