I was drinking increasingly heavily for ten years before I became a father, and the introduction of a new child into my world jolted me into thinking that I couldn't go on drinking the way I had.
At first, I was worried that it would just be another failure and that I would be treated like an outcast with a problem (something I have experienced before when I sought help for years in Greater London).
What I found in Marsden health Centre with my health worker Laura was quite the opposite. I was treated with dignity and respect throughout my treatment, given so much encouragement and advice on treatment that I found my motivation to give up drinking shortly after commencing the treatment.
I have been abstinent for six months now.
All I can do is thank the people who have been involved in providing this treatment and to the people who have delivered it.
This truly has been a lifesaver for me and my family, I am not sure where I would be without it.
