I was admitted for major surgery to the women's ward in July. I was very nervous about being an inpatient but really didn't need to be. The care I received was second to none. The support, compassion and empathy from the nursing staff was second to none.
The domestic staff were very considerate and caring also. The ward itself was very clean and all staff were excellent with their hygiene and infection control measures.
The Doctors and Consultant were also top quality. Very caring when I was extremely poorly with the Consultant sitting by my bed for some time.
All staff members took time to talk, explain and most importantly, to listen to me. Although the ward was busy, they didn't make you feel a nuisance as I felt every day during a following admission to another hospital.
I have put 4 stars instead of 5 for the involvement in decisions purely due to the fact that I was so poorly at one point that I was unable to make any decisions.
"fantastic care on the woman's ward"
