"Left in corridor and sent home with glass in..."

My 12 year old daughter suffered a nasty trauma and cuts to her foot when a very heavy weight feel on it. A paramedic sent her to A&E after administering morphine. We arrived just after 9pm and were left in the corridor. After half an hour wait we were sent for an xray and she was given some pain relief, though I wasn't Told what this was so couldn't give more that evening for fear of overdosing her. When we returned from the xray we waited for another hour in the corridor then were told there was a serious trauma coming in so they put a screen around us. As the trauma was brought in, we couldn't see but could hear everything, including that the driver was dead on scene. As you can imagine, this really traumatised my daughter. At 11:30pm a doctor saw her in a cubicle, told us the xray was fine and said we could go home. I asked about walking on it as she could not weight bear and was begrudgingly given done crutches. There was no proper examination of her foot and no aftercare advice given. When we arrived home, after midnight, my daughter told me that they hadn't removed the broken glass from her foot so we had to do this ourselves.

All in all, appalling treatment. It doesn't matter how busy they are, every patient should be treated carefully.
