I attended this unit at GWH earlier today for a colonoscopy.
. From the moment I handed my letter in, to the discharge briefing , I was treated with utmost care and dignity.
Due to family history I was terrified, but the Dr , who was aware of this, talked to me before beginning to re assure me.
The procedure itself was quite difficult as I found it very painful , but, with excellent support from the Dr and nurses with me , and extra medication,it was completed.
The staff in recovery were excellent too, bringing me an extra blanked as I was shivering and monitoring me carefully and bringing me water and biscuits as I felt very light headed.
I also got a welcome cup of tea once I was up and dressed.
Thank you to everyone on the unit.
