"Nursing Care Good - Dr's Interation poor"

About: Milton Keynes Hospital

I have been regularly visiting a friend for 8 weeks and can honestly say that the lack or interaction, co-ordination & consistency between Dr's & Staff here must be costing this NHS Trust an absolute fortune.

So much money has been wasted that even I can clearly see it.

No one seems to take the lead on a patients care plan (if one exists).

There is a total lack of coordination between departments.

Four different letters have been sent to the patients home even though she lives alone and has remained an inpatient throughout this time and they were all aware of that as she cannot move from her bed.

She has been transferred from MK to Oxford, Oxford to MK, MK to Stoke, Stoke to MK but no can really say why or is this really necessary, internal communication is non-existent.

There is no attempt to ever update next of kin with anything to do with her well being - ever!

Even PALS has not had the decency to respond to the next of kin's lengthy answerphone message left a couple of weeks ago.

If this was a private establishment so many people would be held accountable for this continuing lack of communication.

Disgraceful!
