"Most of the staff were very friendly."

About: Northampton General Hospital (Acute)

(as a relative),

What I liked

Most of the staff were very friendly.

What could be improved

Somebody in charge to give orders. i.e. Matron.

Anything else?

My daughter was taken into A&E at 2am on thursday morning 16th July 2009. She had a unrine sample taken and a blood test and was then taken to a ward at 5am. She was not seen by a doctor until late afternoon on thursday. she was told she would be going for a scan on the thursday, but when the doctor arrived he said he wasnt told she was in the ward and said it was not his fault if nobody told him she was there. A nurse signed for giving my daughter her antibiotic at around midnight on the thursday night when in fact she did not give it to her. Not once did i she the doctors gel their hands before handling patients. My daugher eventually was taken taken for her scan late friday morning. The scan showed two stones in her kidney ane one stuck in her ureter tube. I transferred her to Three Shires Hospital where they operated at 7.30pm on friday night. They placed a stent in her ureter and she has to return in two weeks to have it removed and hopefully the stones also.

regards
