"Immunisations"

About: Locala Community Partnerships CIC / Children's community nursing

(as a parent/guardian),

My 14 year old daughter was overdue on her immunisations due to being needle phobic and a previous bad experience with the nurse at her last jab. She agreed to have one injection. I booked it with Locala Childrens Services - Debbie Corcoran and explained the problem, she kindly booked a double appt at the end of the clinic so my daughter wouldn't feel pressured by being rushed. On the day the nurse, Sally, was fantastic, she chatted with my daughter about overdue injections and we agreed which vaccine to have. We left the room while she prepared the injection and then she called us back in. Yes my daughter was upset but Sally was really kind and patient and my daughter agreed the experience wasn't as bad as she had thought and has agreed to have her next vaccine at a later date. The appt was at Cleckheaton Health Centre

Hello

Thank you for taking the time to write this. I know it will mean a great deal to the team, and in particular Debbie and Sally. It is great to read about our teams doing that bit extra to make a big difference to patients. I will of course ensure that the team sees your comments.

I am delighted that you and your daughter had such a positive experience, and wish you both well for the future.

Thank you again.

Emma
