About: Harmoni / NHS 111 Kingston Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I was playing badminton and suddenly got a terrible pain in the back of my calf, one of the ladies brought me home in her car as It was a struggle to walk.

I thought some rest would sort it out but the pain was getting worse and decided to call 111 for advice. They sent a paramedic to the house and I was taken to Kingston Hospital A&E where I was advised to rest my leg for two whole days.

The following day I was getting more and more concerned as the pain was getting worse, I was concerned it could be thrombosis. I was still unable to walk. I called my GP but as I could not walk they arranged for a non-emergency ambulance to take me to Kingston A&E again. Here they re-examined my leg and assured me there was nothing to be concerned about but did give me painkillers and crutches to help me get around.

Really appreciate the care and service provided by both the 111 service and the hospital.
