"Excellent maternity care"

About: Yeovil District Hospital

My first baby was born at 36 weeks so naturally I was unprepared and very nervous. During labour my care was fantastic and it was managed very well by the team of midwives. I stayed in afterwards until feeding was established as I desperately wanted to breastfeed but my baby didn't latch on immediately. She then developed bad jaundice which made the feeding situation even worse. The kind nurses from scbu and midwives came around the clock to patiently cup feed my baby with expressed milk whilst she as having treatment for jaundice so that it wouldn't interfere with breastfeeding. I now have a happy and healthy 3 month old breastfed baby. With out the help and support I recieved from all the maternity staff this wouldn't have been the case and I would have had to go straight to bottle which at the time would have been easier for all. Extremely grateful, thank you.
