What could be improved
all the care provided for anyone having a miscarriage
Anything else?
this hospital is appalling in the treatment that they provide to mothers who are having a miscarriage. This is my second miscarriage and after the first i was just sent home and offered no counselling or follow up so did not expect much this time however, i started to bleed on thursday night and i phoned the relevant ward who told me to go to out of hours gp!!! the next morning i phoned my gp who told me not to waste time going there and go to a&e. did that last time so was not going to do that again to be treated like a piece of meat. Phoned the midwife who referred me to the assessment unit - the midwife was the only good one. Expecting to get a phonecall to come for a scan, instead they phoned to say sorry we only have 4 emergancy appts and we already have seven you will have to wait until Monday!!!!!! All weekend i have been left. I was told if the bleeding gets heavy or I pass anything to go to a and e and you are supposed to take it with you. Basically I have been left to go throught this second miscarriage alone without medical help. I even asked for an early scan at 6 weeks because of previous miscarriage but was refused. The treatment for people who are miscarrying needs to be improved dramatically as at the minute you are a number rather than a greiving mother!!!
