"What I disliked. Visit Wife 30th ..."

About: Lincoln County Hospital

(as a relative),

What could be improved

What I disliked.

Visit Wife 30th April 2pm

Tablets on table from am (unable to reach them)

Specs on window ( unable to reach them)

Soiled nightdress on window uncovered

Soiled pillowcase on bedside chair (left for 3 days)

Under bed on the floor was a used hospital towel/wipes/used tissue/paracetamol tablet from previous days

Doctor came into the room to see the wife & I told him about the problems but he declined to comment

Occupational Nurse came into the room to ask me some questions regarding the type of property we have etc. I pointed out all the problems I had found and let her see the state of the room & she said she would speak to the nurse when she had finished talking to the wife.

I then left to catch my bus home.

I returned at 6:30 at night only to find not a thing had been done to clean up the room

I then spoke to a nurse on reception and asked her to look at the dirty state of the room, she the told me she would speak to the nurse in charge

When the nurse came into the room I explained all the problems I reported at 2pm and she was full of apology. I said I was not blaming her as she was not there at 2pm

She then took away all the soiled articles

I took several pictures of the state of the room to show how dirty it was thinking I might send the to the press.

Anything else?

As we have to wear aprons & gloves because of passing on infections it would be a good policy to have the room cleaned daily not left in the state I found on my visit
