"Discharge Farce"

The Urology team during my TURP procedure in ACU on Monday showed a high degree of professional skill and were transparent, informative and naturally nice during discussion. My thanks to the team. The care on the Ward for myself and that I saw of others was the best example of dedication with compassion I have seen. Many thanks to all those who looked after me in Bay 5-1 and side ward 6. All designations from house keeping through to staff nurses were competent efficient and kind. Huge respect. My Gold Ward Award has to go to one of the Nurses. Sadly and upsettlingly my discharge on Wednesday was a total farce and my wife and I eventually left the hospital with no Medication or discharge letter. There was mis-administration and poor communication between ACU and Pharmacy. I was anxious and frustrated. During this period a Nurse was abrasive, unhelpful, unfriendly and appeared to be deliberately obstructive. I will be sending a seperate report about this. The important thing is, my surgery seems to be successful and I am recovering well following post op. protocol. My thoughts are with fellow patients that are still there but I know they are in very capable hands. .
