"Wonderful service by a wonderful team"

About: Beaumont Hospital

When I booked my appointment I was planning to have a non surgical procedure on my varicose veins however on meeting my consultant & having a scan they explained that due to the thinness of my legs laser treatment may cause more problems. I felt very well informed throughout my consultation, all my answered got answered clearly and I left the room with a surgery date, a price and a clear understanding of what would be happening. Prior to leaving I filled in my Pre Admission form which was was easy to understand and very detailed. Two days later I received my Pre Op appointment and my admission details through the post. The Pre Op appointment was quick, private and again time with the nurse to answer any new questions I had. The following week was the day of my operation & I felt sick with nerves, however from the moment I was shown to my room I felt at ease, I was in a lovely room with a TV, newspaper and my own bathroom. The nurse came, the surgeon came, a catering person came and the anaesthetist all of who spent time with me and made me feel valued. The Operation went well and I was taken back to my room with regular checks been done on me. I had tea & toast,I am not a great eater but could of had something more filling if required. It was quality tea as was the coffee I had later on.I went home in the evening with spare dressings, a two week sick note and a Post Op appointment for the following day. The next day my leg was checked and i Surgical stocking was applied, I thought this would be far more uncomfortable than it is, so much so I only realised earlier that I now only have to wear it in the evening for a week. Two days later I received a telephone call from a nurse just to check that everything was fine and how I was feeling My leg appears to be healing beautifully and allow its a lovely shade of yellow & black at the moment I am pleased with the results. I am so grateful to the Consultant, nurses pre & post op, the nurses during my admission, the porter, catering staff, receptionist and theatre team for a wonderful experience and the care I received. I know I paid for this privately and some would argue that the NHS should pay for all services but I know this is not possible and given the current state of the NHS they need apply tight rules. I have read many negative reviews about the treatment others have received, we all have the right to dignity & respect which I did received throughout my care. If you are thinking of having any sort of treatment privately please do go to the Beaumont as you will not regret it, go early and have a cappuccino whilst your waiting which is very nice Thank you everyone

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback, which we are very pleased to read. We've passed on your kind comments to the Executive Director at the hospital, to share with the rest of the team.
