"Orthopaedic outpatient appointment"

About: Freeman Hospital

Very disappointed that we were unaware that the consultant whose clinic we were attending was not present in out-patients until we went into the the clinic room. No information on the clinic board that they were absent. After seeing the SPR it became apparent that another visit would be necessary to see the consultant. Poor communication!

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback of your Orthopaedic outpatient appointment in Musculoskeletal Services, Freeman Hospital.

It is our usual practice that when we are informed that a Consultant will be absent from clinic, this is communicated through the information boards.

However, on this occasion this must not have been actioned and we apologise for this oversight.

We also inform our patients on their appointment letters that they will be seen by a particular Consultant or a member of their team, if this is not possible. I can only apologise again that, on this occasion, this was not communicated fully and your experience fell short of expectations.

Your feedback has been sent to the staff in the Musculoskeletal Services Outpatient Department at the Freeman Hospital for their information and to act as a reminder to inform patients of any delays in clinic.

Thank you once again for your review.
