"I was taken to Glenfield from ..."

About: Glenfield Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was taken to Glenfield from the Royal in the early hours of a wednesday morning. I had a massive pulmonary embolism and they decided the safest thing was to thrombolyse me. I'd never even heard of a PE but the staff were absolutely amazing. It was a terrifying time for myself and my family but everyone was so considerate and were happy to take the time to explain everything to us.

I spent over a week, first in hdu where I was monitored constantly and then a couple of nights in a normal ward.

The care I received was second to none and I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be close to this hospital.

What could be improved

The only thing I would like to see changed is the discharge procedure.
