"Antenatal breastfeeding classes"

About: Queen Charlotte's Hospital

It has been four weeks since I tried to book an antenatal class for breastfeeding. The first time I asked in early July I've been told the classes in the area are all full until November (a month after my due date). I called antenatal centre in the hospital a few times and waited for their response for two weeks. The final response I received was "we were sorry, you could use NCT breastfeeding classes instead", which I have to pay for. They even suggested that I could complain about this situation instead of trying to solve the problem! I recently heard from women with similar due dates from other hospitals that they did not have any problem in booking their classes around the same time that I tried to book mine. The whole situation is annoying. As a first-time mother you expect the antenatal centre to be more supportive and helpful.
