"Quick service"

About: Huddersfield Royal Infirmary

I took my husband into A&E in the early evening with severe stomach pains due to a gall stone blockage. As he had been in hospital a few weeks earlier we knew the symptoms and when we explained what had happened the staff dealt with him fairly quickly. We liked the way that blood tests were done straightaway and then you waited rather than waiting for ages then having to wait again after blood tests. As his bloods came back ok and his pains had stopped he was told to go home as there was nothing to do and they explained that he still needed to wait for a gall bladder removal op fir another few weeks. Overall the service we received was fine and you expect to wait a while in an nhs a&e department but the wait was not too bad at all.

Thank you for sharing your husband's experience in the A&E department. We are working to be responsive and efficient to each individual attending the department. It is reassuring to hear our response to your husband achieved this.
