I went down to Buckland Hospital today, some 20 minute drive for an Xray of my lower spine. When I arrived and reported at Reception I was told they are closed for lunch until 1330. I informed the lady that I checked on the website and it doesn't say anything about closing for lunch, After a brief conversation with her I left and as it was a nice day I sat outside for 45 minutes and returned. A different person on reception then who took my Xray form and told me the Xray machine was faulty and my Xray couldn't be done until the engineer had been out. I told him I had been waiting outside and couldn't the lady have told me this instead of asking me to wait until it opened. He then told me she was at lunch but I could wait for her to return to ask her, I declined that offer.

I am very sorry to learn about your experience. I will ask the team about closing for lunch and if this is a regular thing (it might be that they were short-staffed on Saturday) I will also make sure that the website is amended. I hope you have been able to get the necessary x-ray done at a different facility in the Trust.

It wasn't a Saturday it was a Friday so should have been fully manned. Yes I've had the Xray done at Victoria Hospital where they were much more friendly and efficient.
