My mum attended today to have a 7 day cardiac monitor fitted to look for a possible arrhythmia as she has had two strokes. She had previously had a poor experience in another hospital and was very anxious about today, to the extent that she had an unsettled night falling out of bed and injuring herself, so her mobility was more compromised than usual.
Today she saw Jacqui, specialist physiologist, who was wonderful. She put mum at ease and was empathetic and compassionate, accommodated her mobility problems without drawing attention and when it came to putting on the monitor was very sensitive and discreet.
Thanks Jacqui, I was feeling bad about having pushed mum to have this test (she didn't want to after her last experience), but you made the whole thing totally painless and have ensured she goes through with an important investigation!
