"Actually looking forward to next visit to Cedar Ward, Northampton"

About: Northampton General Hospital (Acute) / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

My wife was admitted to Cedar Ward for a full knee replacement.

She was admitted at 3.30pm on the Wednesday and was in theatre, as promised, on Thursday at 10am. Her treatment was superb from first to last. Her surgeon, Mr Crawford, was kind, caring and explained everything. He always gives the impression that you are his only patient and he has all the time in the world for you. The nursing staff were tremendous and nothing was too much trouble.

My wife is now on the list for her second knee and she is actually looking forward to the experience.

As to MRSA, while my wife was a patient, when I first visited, there was no great indication to visitors to "scrub up". However, after a couple of days, I noticed that florescent tape was laid across the entrances to the wards to bring the washing facilities to everyones attention. This is

very effective. Keep up the good work!
