"still waiting for results of ct scan"

About: Royal Derby Hospital

My wife Eleanor Birkinhead had a CT scan on July 22nd and we are still waiting for a report of that scan I spoke to the Gastroenterology Dept Secretary about a week later and was told that the scan images are available to the Gynaecologist ( Nottingham Queens Medical Ctre ) Our visit to Nottingham Gynaecol' Dept yesterday found that the said images from Derby Gastro Dept had not been recieved and they cannot access them anyway. Why? they could not say but did not show any interest at all. My wifes condition is deteriorating daily and I cant get any information to enable us to move forward. I would like a report about the scan images from a qualified Gastroenterologist so we can put the information to good use and allow other specialists to make a proper decision on how to treat my wifes condition. As my wife has Crohns disease and also has a pelvic prolapse and is also suffering with anxiety and possibly depression, I believe a prompt response will be most helpful.

Dear Mr Birkinhead, Many thanks for your comments received today, regarding the results of your wife's recent CT scan. Unfortunately, without more details we are unable to investigate your concerns immediately but despite this, due to our obligations to protect our patient's confidentiality, we would be reluctant to fully respond with personal information via a public website. However, so that we can assist you, we would advise that you contact our Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) on email dhft.contactpals@nhs.net or via Freephone 0800 7837691, Monday to Friday 9.00 am - 4.30 pm, who, with more information, would certainly be happy to look into this matter and respond direct to yourself and your wife accordingly. We do hope our PALS team are able to assist you and once again, many thanks for taking the time provide us with your comments via the NHS Choices website. Kind regards, from the Patient Experience Team for Derby Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
