After fracturing my hip and the head of my humorous in a Nasty fall. I had a full hip replacement at a trauma hospital. I was sent for rehab on Heron ward I stayed there for around three weeks I received first class care and support. The staff were not only caring , they gave me just the right amount of gentle encouragement to keep me on track to recover my mobility and regain the use of my left arm I never once had to ask for help in cutting my meals up, this was done automatically untill I said I thought I could manage myself, in fact on each table their was a large placemat Stating clearly that if you needed help in eating or drinking please ask. Hygiene was Taken very seriously, toilets were cleaned after each use. Everywhere was deep cleaned once a week. Wards were cleaned daily. The meals were good with several choices each day for breakfast, lunch and tea. Hot drinks were brought round several times a day. I'm not much of a salad lover but their salads are brilliant and I had several during my stay.
