What I liked
My dad was in for critical brain surgery and I was amazed with the speed of the whole process. Although we did have the operation cancelled, we understood emergencies took priority and it got re-booked swiftly. The doctors were polite and reassuring and the nurses were excellent. When his condition deteriorated after the first op dad got rushed down straight away back to theatre, even though it was the middle of the night, and the surgeon regularly checked his progress after this.
What could be improved
Some staff seem very distracted and when you ask some of them questions they seem very un-interested. Whilst I know they see this everyday, for us it was a new and very scary time. Overall though, the staff listened to us and helped as much as they could.
Anything else?
I think this hospital deserves more appreciation for its excellent work. Everyone has bad experience's but when you look at the bigger picture it's not so bad. My dad's still here and is doing well. I will always be thankful to the doctors, nurses and other staff that helped him and us through this awful time.
