"Retinal detachment surgery"

About: Sussex Eye Hospital

I am currently recovering from surgery to repair a large tear in my retina and reattach it. I am so very grateful for the prompt action of both my own optometrist and then the hospital. It all happened over a weekend but well within 24 hours of diagnosis at my own optometrist, a full team had come in on Sunday morning to operate. They were friendly, reassuring and efficient but also very clear and honest about what was going on. I cannot thank the staff enough - from the surgeon and team to the ward staff as well as the kind person who brought me a hot lunch afterwards. These people take their jobs seriously and thanks to them the sight in my left eye is hopefully saved.

Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to post this positive feedback - especially at a time that must have been very worrying for you.

I hope your recovery continues to go well.

I will be sure to forward your feedback on to the team at the Eye Hospital as I know they will be delighted to see your kind words.

With best wishes,
