What I liked
I had my first baby at city hospital. I felt that the delivery suite staff were caring and professional. My baby was delivered by c-section due to a failed induction. Most of the staff during the c-section were excellent. In particular the anaesthetist was fantastic.
What could be improved
One of the doctors delivering my baby couldn’t speak English clearly and stitched half of the wound very differently to the doctor stitching the other half. It looks very odd.
My main concern with this hospital is the short staffing i experienced on the ward. I was taken to the ward around 2.00pm was given very little information and saw very few staff. I was placed in a very noisy ward. The only midwife on the ward that night tutted at me for ringing my buzzer to help me pick up my baby when she was being sick. The midwife later apologised and explained the reason for her anger. No midwife checked if my baby was feeding ok or assisted with breast feeding.
Anything else?
I left the hospital as soon as I could, 48 hour after a c section. I was sent home with out any medication But I really was better off at home.
